ACTIVITIES and athletics

Charlotte Performing Arts Center Technical Assistant

Assist the Supervisor of Performing Arts Center with technical, operational, and maintenance activities of the Center.  Job entails a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.  In absence of the Supervisor, Technical Assistant will function as Build/Event Coordinator.

Charlotte Performing Arts Center High School Play Director

The High School Play Director coordinates all play activities, including rehearsals and performances, and overall program stewardship. 

Recreation Swim Coach - Boys/Girls

Successful candidates will have extensive swimming experience and can build a strong recreation club swim program. 

Lifeguard- Part time

Successful candidate is responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Exceptional customer service is required.

Water Exercise Instructor

Successful candidates are responsible for teaching their assigned classes while providing motivation, monitoring, education and appropriate modifications. Instructors should provide world-class customer service, help promote member retention and maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for participants.

Water Safety Instructor

Successful candidate is responsible for planning and teaching group swim lessons and private lessons for patrons of the Charlotte Aquatic Center.

District Monitor

Successful candidate is responsible for the protection of Charlotte Public Schools property and equipment at / in the rented area or building.  The monitor must be on site and at the point of the activity during the length of the rental period.

Varsity Diving Coach

Successful candidates will have extensive diving experience and can assist in building a strong athletic program. 

Middle School Basketball Coach, Girls

Successful candidates will have extensive basketball experience and can assist in building a strong athletic program. 

Middle School Track Coach

Successful candidates will have track experience and can assist in building a strong athletic program. 

High School Competitive Cheer Assistant Coach

School Nutrition Supervisor

The School Nutrition Supervisor shall be responsible for school nutrition related business and personnel management. He/she shall be responsible for supervising, coordinating and directing the work duties of all school nutrition personnel, and the preparation and distribution of meals in the district. He/she shall make sure the district’s program complies with local, state and federal agency requirements. The School Nutrition Supervisor will also complete all required reports and operate the program in a businesslike manner. He/she shall coordinate building use with the building principals.

Dean of Students, Upper Elementary (Grades 4-6)

The Dean of Students will work directly with students who struggle with behaviors in the school setting.  The Dean of Students will work cooperatively with the building principal to supervise and discipline students.  In addition, they will work with students, staff, parents, and community members to provide a safe & secure learning environment and build long lasting, positive relationships with families.

 

Administrative assistants

Administrative Assistant, Food Service - Full Time, 7 hours/day

The Food Service Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative support and clerical functions for the Food Service department. The Food Service Administrative Assistant is the first ambassador for the Food Service department. This individual must remain flexible in nature, possess a positive attitude at all times, and maintain confidentiality regarding staff, students, and parents. This role directly supports the Food Service Supervisor.

Server/Cashier - Two Positions Available

Successful candidates must promote teamwork, customer service, and help implement processes to assist with department goals. Preparation and serving of meals for students.

Food Service - Float (4-6 hours/day)

Food Service, Dish Washer - 4 hours/day - Middle School

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

Student Support Specialist, Middle School

The Student Support Specialist is to identify and assist students to overcome barriers that interfere with learning through the use of assessment, counseling, consultation, coordination of school and community resources, and program development.  The Student Support Specialist utilizes knowledge of human behavior, social, cultural and community influences to help create a positive learning climate. Provides case management services.

Special Education Paraprofessional - Full time, 7 hours/day

The role of the special education paraprofessional is to provide additional support in the classroom setting, as well as lunchroom/playground. The paraprofessional’s goal is to assist in providing a well-organized, smooth functioning school environment in which all children can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

Gen Ed Lunch Paraprofessionals - Part Time

The role of the paraprofessional is to provide additional support in the lunchroom/playground. The paraprofessional’s goal is to assist in providing a well-organized, smooth functioning school environment in which all children can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

Teachers

Middle School ELA Teacher - Full Time

Teacher will have responsibilities for direct instruction for ELA at the middle school level (grades 7th & 8th).  A wide variety of tasks are performed in the teaching-learning process for students, the primary one being to help students learn the subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible adults.

High School Industrial Arts/Woodshop Teacher - Full Time

Teacher will have responsibilities for industrial arts/wood shop direct instruction to high school students. A wide variety of tasks are performed in the teaching-learning process for students, the primary one being to help students learn the subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible adults.

Middle School Special Education Teacher - Full Time

Teacher will assist in fostering student growth in a resource capacity for middle school students identified as eligible for special education services. Assist in developing, facilitating, and conducting, monitoring and adjusting instructional opportunities for students. Complete necessary paperwork, documentation, narrative reports, correspondence and evaluation measures to assure all free and appropriate public education (FAPE) requirements are met in a professional and timely manner.

TRANSPORTATION

School Bus Driver - Full Time

A school bus driver is responsible for safe operation of the school bus according to district policy as well as state and federal regulations.  Additionally, a school bus driver must effectively manage student behavior while the students are on the bus and work to build meaningful student relationships.

Substitute School Bus Driver - Part Time/On-Call

A substitute school bus driver is responsible for safe operation of the school bus according to district policy as well as state and federal regulations.  Additionally, a substitute school bus driver must effectively manage student behavior while the students are on the bus.  This position will not have a regularly assigned route.
