Aquatic center hours

The Charlotte Aquatic Center is open Monday - Friday from 6am - 9pm and on Saturdays from 9am - 3pm.   Our main pool is open the whole time, we do not close it for programming.  Please just avoid any lessons or classes that may be taking place.   The therapy pool has specific hours and does close for programming. Please be aware that our lifeguards will blow the whistle 15 minutes prior to closing time to allow for guests to change and give them time to secure the pools.

Entrance to the facility

A Charlotte Aquatic Center membership is not required to swim at our facility.  We have a few different options for entrance. 

Daily Guest Fee:  $5 per person entering the water no matter the age

Punch Card:  $40 for 12 swims

Membership:  Pricing in membership tab

Pay each time you come swimming.  We do not charge for people coming in to watch.  We have benches around the pool to sit and watch from or feel free to sit in the stands to watch.  

Punch Cards: $40 for 12 swims

A punch card is for people that use the pool more often.  Punch cards are not person specific, a family can work off of one card.  One punch per person each time you come to our facility.  We can  hold the card for you or you can keep it and bring it back each time you swim.  Punch cards do not expire.

A membership is for people that use the pool regularly.  A membership will give you access to the pool any time we are open.  Members still pay for classes and programming.  Members do receive 75% off of water exercise classes.  

Water exercise classes

Water Exercise classes happen in our warmer water therapy pool.  Classes are $10 each class.  We offer punch cards with 8 punches for $60.   Members receive 66% off of water exercises.   A punch card for a member is $20.

Open Swim Birthday Parties

An open swim birthday party can be held when our pool is normally open.  There is a flat fee of $200 for an open swim party.  This price includes tables and chairs and all swimmers up to 50 people.

Private Rental Birthday Parties

Private rentals are held when our pool is normally closed.   Lifeguards will be provided for each party as well as tables and chairs.   You can rent one pool for $300 and both pools for $400.

Wibit and Movie Add Ons

Our wibit is available to rent for both open swim and private rentals. We will put in either the wagon wheel or 2 other pieces of the wibit.  Any child using the wibit would need to pass a deep end test of swimming 25 yards on their stomach unassisted.  No lifejackets or puddle jumpers are allowed in the deep end of our pools.  The wibit is a main pool only activity.  The wibit begins at $100 for rental and may be more if additional lifeguards are needed.  Please call our office at 517.541.5740 for more information. 

It is possible for us to add a movie to your therapy pool or main pool rental.  The movie in the therapy pool would look similar to the picture above.  We have a large rolling panel TV we can bring in and stream the movie of your choice.  If you add a movie in the main pool, it would show on the scoreboard.    Please call our office at 517.541.5740 for more information.  

Large Group Swims

Large group swims happen during our open hours.  Large group rates require a minimum of 10 swimmers.  Large groups are charged $3 per person entering the water as opposed to our normal $5 per person.  Arrangements must be made ahead of time for large group swims so that we may have the appropriate number of lifeguards on deck.  Please call our office at 517.541.5740 for more information.

Anyone is able to join the Tiger Shark swim club.  We welcome CPS students, homeschoolers, and other area district students.  There is no residency requirement for Tiger Sharks.

Session Dates:

May 26th - July 30th

1st - 3rd Grade Students  $120     Register Here

Practice Tuesday / Thursday for 60 minutes.

Swimmers in 1st - 3rd grades will practice two times per week for one hour.  Practice will be like an intense swimming lesson.  The goal of our program for our youngest sharks is to be able to compete all four strokes 25 yards legally.  Practice will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 -7:00pm.  .   

4th - 12th Grade Students  $160      Register Here

Practice Tuesday / Thursday for 90 minutes.

Swimmers in 4th through 12th grades will practice two times per week for 90 minutes.  Practices will entail both stroke instruction and drill along with building strength and stamina.

Summer Swimming Lessons   

Our summer swimming lessons run daily Monday - Thursday for two weeks at a time.  We level our swimmers at the first class.  All levels are available at each class.  All lessons have 40 minutes of instruction followed by free time.

Little Fish

Little Fish is a class for students that are not yet 5 years old but that are starting to swim on their own.  Kids that want to be in the water, like going underwater, and are starting to move themselves in the water without a puddle jumper or lifejacket. The class has 30 minutes of instruction and 15 minutes of play.

A parent is required to be in the water with the child for these lessons but only the child should be registered.  Both parents are welcome in the water.   Children who are not completely toilet trained must wear a swimmy diaper.

springboard diving lessons

Join us for springboard diving lessons. Lessons will take place at the Aquatic Center  on Mondays and Wednesdays and include both dry land time and water time.  Participants will learn front jumps in the basic straight, tuck and pike positions along with lineups and triple jumps.  There will be an introduction to hurdles as well.  Participants should wear shorts and t-shirt and bring a suit and towel.  Participants must be at least 7 years old and able to swim to the side from the diving board.

The Charlotte Aquatic Center offers opportunities specifically for homeschool families.  All are welcome to join in all of our programming.  We do not have residency or membership requirements for any of our programming.  All are welcome to attend. 

Homeschool Swimming Lessons

Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 - 12:00pm

No registration is necessary for swimming lessons.

Our homeschool swimming lessons occur each week on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm and include a 30 minute swimming lesson and 30 minutes of open swim.  These lessons are designed for school aged children (5 years old and up).  We will have three swimming instructors at each lesson allowing for one lesson in our shallow pool for beginning swimmers and one lesson in our larger shallow area for our more intermediate and one lesson in our deep water for advanced swimmers.

We ask all of our homeschool swimming families to download and join our group in TeamReach.  This allows us to communicate with you directly if class, for any reason, should be cancelled or instructors not available.   When that happens, homeschool families are welcome to come swimming from 11 - 12 for open swim and pay the normal $5 per person rate.  

Parents and  younger siblings are welcome to swim during homeschool time.  Simply pay normal admission to the pool and swim with the whole family.

The Charlotte Aquatic Center offers homeschool families the opportunity to engage and participate in the fun "classroom type holiday party" with an added bonus of 60 minutes swimming attached.  Come and celebrate the holidays with us.  

Easter Party:  Thursday, April 2nd

Join us for an Easter celebration at the Charlotte Aquatic Center.   We will begin with an Easter breakfast of pancakes and sausage doggies along with doing arts and crafts.  We will have an egg hunt in the therapy pool and then swim for 60 minutes.  Join in on the fun.  

Homeschool Pool Parties

The Charlotte Aquatic Center offers a time for  homeschool families to meet up and swim together at a reduced rate.  For just $10, the whole family can swim together.  We will have the wibit in the water (must pass deep end test without lifejacket or puddle jumper) and extra guards on duty.  No registration is necessary, just show up and swim.

Homeschool Tennis lessons

Tennis anyone?   We will offer tennis lessons this fall and spring to all homeschool families.  Tennis lessons will be from 11:00 - 12:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays.  This class works differently than the swimming lessons.  Tennis will be taught twice a week for 4 weeks (8 total lessons).  Register Here

Pre-Registration is not required, but recommended.  We can only have 30 people attend our Swim In Movies.

School Year Pool Parties:  Any Non School Weekday

Drop the kids off to swim from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Charlotte Aquatic Center with lots of other children.  We will have additional lifeguards on duty and the Wibit in the water.  This will happen on any SNOW DAY that the Aquatic Center is open as well as scheduled days off of school.  $5 per person swimming.  Parents are welcome to swim with their child or watch.

Glow Swims

The Charlotte Aquatic Center will host several glow swims this fall and winter.  We turn all the over head lights off and have just the lights in the pool on.  All participants receive a glow stick upon entry and there will be many glow sticks in the water.  Participants are welcome to bring their own glow sticks as well if they would like to.    We use both pools for our glow swims.  

Easter egg hunt

Join us for swimming with plastic eggs in our main and therapy pool.  All participants get a bunny bag on their way out.

Early release swims

after school swims

After school swims offer the kids an opportunity to swim after school.  Students attending Charlotte Upper Elementary will walk over after school.  Parkview and Washington Students are bussed over after school.  A lifeguard will check the kids in and ride with them to the Aquatic Center.    Students that do not attend Charlotte Schools are welcome to swim during this time as well.   The wibit will be in the water and we will have extra lifeguards on duty.  $5 per person Click here to register

Students from the CUE will walk over after school.  Swimming will be from 3:30 - 4:50. Parents will pick their students up at 5:00 from door 4.

Participants must be able to attend ALL training dates.  There is also 9 hours of online training that must be completed by Wednesday, August 13th before class.  This training includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer.  It is a two year Certification.
