Charlotte Public Schools has an operating millage renewal proposal on the November 4, 2025 ballot. The renewal applies only to non-homestead property (such as businesses, rental properties, and second homes) and will not increase taxes for homeowners. This funding provides approximately $3.7 million annually to support instruction, special education, student services, and transportation. Charlotte Public Schools is addressing ongoing roof maintenance at CUE/Middle School. Recent independent testing confirmed no mold or air quality issues. CPS Roof Repairs Update:
No major damage from recent storms. Leaks in identified areas will be repaired next week. CEI starts work April 8th at multiple schools. Emergency repairs underway at CUE/CMS, with long-term solutions being explored. Updates to follow.
