Back to School Date Reminder
School starts after Labor Day this year due to our bond construction projects
As we start the month of August, it is a great time to remind everyone that our calendar for the 23-24 school year is a bit different, so as to allow the longest summer possible to complete our 2020 CPS Bond construction projects! Our first day back to school will be Tuesday, September 5th, the day after Labor Day. Please look for back to school information coming by the 3rd week of August, with information regarding Open House events, schedules, and supply lists. It is going to be an exciting start to the school year, with all of our new facility upgrades! There are improvements all across the district, but look for the completion of our largest projects: 5 classrooms added to Washington Elementary, 7 classrooms at Galewood Early Elementary, parking lots at CMS/CUE, and the brand new Auxiliary Gym/Activity Room at Charlotte High School. When our students enter the classrooms they will also be able to utilize the interactive flat panel displays in their classrooms, and our wonderful IT department has been busy with installations all over the district!
